EGEDA in Latin America

EGEDA has important links with the producers associations in the countries of Latin America  and, in collaboration with them, has set up societies in Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico for the joint management of producers’ intellectual property rights in those countries. 

The goal is to manage the nationally-recognized rights (public performance, mainly for cable and satellite retransmission and performance in spaces open to the public, and compensation for private copying  which, although recognized by legislation in effect in these countries, were not being managed due to the lack of collecting societies established on behalf of audiovisual producers.

EGEDA supports and promotes cultural and film industry activities in these countries aimed at the promotion of international co-productions among others.
