Establishment of the ICDEA Foundation

Set up in 2009, the ICDEA Foundation is an ambitious project consisting of the creation of an Institute for Audiovisual Knowledge, Digitalization and Entrepreneurs. The project, currently in its start-up phase, has the following objectives, among others:

  • To be an internationally-recognized reference center for audiovisual sector R+D which can provide a standard for models to be followed in the new digital age
  • Digitalization and preparation of audiovisual works for their exploitation in new distribution formats
  • To be a reference center for the training of professionals in New Technologies as applied to the audiovisual sector
  • To promote enterprising initiatives for starting up sector companies, and
  • To create a reference audiovisual sector cultural center.

    This year’s film series was held October 20-23, 2011 at the prestigious Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts and opened with the showing of “Blackbread”.
