ACCIÓN CULTURAL ESPAÑOLA PROMOTES NEW PROGRAM FOR PRESENCE OF SPANISH ARTISTS ABROAD

Acción Cultural Española AC/C is implementing a program to facilitate the presence of Spanish artists and creators in other countries.

The “Internationalization Program for Spanish Culture” (with the Spanish acronym “PICE”) aims to encourage the presence of Spanish artists outside of Spain. It’s based on two pillars: a program of visitors which allows international event programmers (of festivals, exhibitions, fairs…) to learn about Spanish activity in their sector to incorporate Spanish creators and artists and a mobility program which promotes cultural institutions to schedule Spanish artists and creators by offering a financial incentive to encourage them to do so.

Candidates for the program of visitors can only be proposed by the following Spanish institutions: AECID, Instituto Cervantes, INAEM, ICAA, Dirección General de Bellas Artes, Archivos y Bibliotecas (Executive Board of Fine Arts, Archives and Libraries), Dirección General de Industrias Culturales y del Libro (Executive Board of Cultural and Book Industries). These proposals will then be submitted to an evaluation committee for selection of the final candidates.

With regard to the mobility program, candidates will be proposed by foreign institutions, public or private, with international focus and for organizers of cultural events. These proposals will then be submitted to an evaluation committee for selection.

There are two calls for proposals for both programs, one in March (with a March 31 deadline) and another in September.
