21st Annual Film Series Recent Spanish Cinema - Los Angeles

Oct 19th-22nd, 2015

Recent Spanish Cinema is the one of the oldest Foreign Film series in the USA. The Series is a Seventh Art showcase of Spain’s top cinema personalities, who have contributed significantly to putting "Made in Spain" productions in the vanguard of international filmmaking. It’s an exceptional setting for the US debut of numerous Spanish film productions. And provides, thanks to the series media campaign, the opportunity for further distribution elsewhere in the United States.

The series provides American west coast audiences the unique opportunity to meet and greet Spanish film celebrities who are presenting the films and who participate in Q&A sessions with audiences following the screenings of their films.

The opening night took place at the Egyptian Theatre attended by the Spanish delegation headed by filmmaker & actress Leticia Dolera (“Requirements to be a Normal Person”), filmmakers Daniel Guzman (Nothing in Return”) & Esteban Roel (“Shrew´s Nest”), actor Alex O’Dogherty (“Happy 140”) and producer Germán Fernández-Moreno (the winner of the New Filmmakers From Spain short film contest, “The Wild, The Child & The Miracle”). All filmmakers and talent in attendance participated in a free panel discussion in the Spielberg Theatre.
